Illustrates and explains what (and who) is needed for the sukkah!

Tamar helped to build a sukkah but it was missing something. She figures out something that is missing and gets some help from a friend to hang the items. Something is still not quite right with the Sukkah though. Tamar's friend knows about something else that is missing but he also needs to get help with that. Even when that is complete the Sukkah still doesn't feel complete. More friends are asked to help and finally the Sukkah is complete when everything and everyone has a place in it!

I like how this story illustrates and explains what (and who) is needed in the Sukkah and how it is great to have a lot of help from friends in putting it together...the building of the inside of the Sukkah brought together many friends! This showed how fun that was with Tamar and her friends and it should be fun in real life too! In my opinion, the people that come together under the Sukkah are the most important ingredient!

Tamar helped with putting her Sukkah frame up. The branches covering the top of the Sukkah have leaves the color of fall. Tamar felt as though something were missing so she colored and cut out apples from paper and hung them around. But still she felt as though something were missing. She called on her friends to help her. They brought in a table, chairs and they even made a poster with a blessing. But still, there was something missing. All of her friends were there and the Sukkah looked wonderful. What do you think Tamar is missing?

Author Ellie B. Gellman has created a wonderful story with friends sharing a favorite holiday. Illustrator Katherine Janus Kahn brings the story to life with bright beautiful colors and lively characters. Readers will enjoy learning about Jewish Culture. Parents and teachers can open up dialogue with students to share in the delight of a culture, holiday and its meaning.

Beautiful Escape

This book... it's a beautiful escape! Each story wraps your mind around it and releases you back into reality with a smile and breath of fresh air. I have nothing but good things to say about it. It was honestly a joy reading. It's not very often you find a book that keeps you smiling after every page you turn! Thank you!

I had the joys of reading this book with my 10 year old son and I will say that it kept me wanting to read more, not wanting to put it down. My son and I took turns at bedtime toward the middle of the book just so we could get to the end faster, we both were very interested in what happens next in the stories. Great book!

Exciting,imaginative way to describe and tell stories of life, growing up...

I read the book while traveling with my wife to Dallas to visit relatives. It was a wonderful book, filled with imagination and stories that tell us what real life is all about. We found ourselves stopping every few pages to discuss the meaning of what he was telling us in the stories. My favorite story was about Clown Town, where a young child wanted so badly to dress like and be a clown. Once the child was able to finally dress up like a clown, other children started doing the same, after it became something that everyone was doing, the child took off the clown suit and went back to being herself, independent, an individual, and wanted others to see who she really was. We both saw some different meanings in this story, but it caused us to talk about what Mr. Reedy was trying to convey to his readers, and made us think. Each story had a distinct message about life, circumstance, values, and simple upbringing we all go thru as we grow up. This is an excellent book for young children, young adults, and basically anyone. I highly recommend it and hope Mr. Reedy has other wonderful stories to share with us soon. WE LOVED THE BOOK.....

I really enjoyed this little tale. The characters are well developed, and the emotions really come through. The adventures were just right; scary, but not horrifying. I can see my grandson reading this with enjoyment.

Very Good for Younger Readers

This is a fun fantasy book for the youngsters among us, including those who've never grown up. Ivy and Carrie are 10 year olds who go to a normal school, with the normal assortment of classmates, and a normal teacher, Mrs. Huffity,

Things start to get a bit abnormal, however, when , Mrs. Huffity tells Carrie that her life's going to change. And it's weird when she taps Ivy on the head and tells her she needs to see more. Then there's the large, so-called dragon egg (which everyone knows can't be real) that she has them each take care of for one day at a time, complete with instructions on the care of dragon eggs and cautions about the creatures who are dangerous to them. (Oh, if you have a dragon egg at home, be sure to talk to it a lot- it'll make for a chattier young dragon.)

Ivy doesn't want to care for the egg because she's had a bad dream involving the egg getting broken to bits. She winds up taking it when the class bully is just going to leave it alone in his locker. That night really peculiar things start to happen ... but dragons just can't be real ... can they? I won't spoil the plot with the adventures that result from taking the dragon egg home, but it'll hold most kids' attention.

I took off a star because of two things. Firstly, the author clearly states that Sparky is a female, yet often uses masculine pronouns: he, him, his. This is annoying.

Secondly, Carrie's life is falling apart because her parents are getting a divorce. I know some people feel children's stories have to teach them things about what life's really like, but most kids know what divorce is and it's common enough in our society that most children have at least some fear of it happening to them. Knowing how worthless and unloved this makes Carrie feel won't help them if it does happen and it doesn't really contribute to the plot.

It'd be both more original and more useful to have them love Carrie enough to be getting marriage counseling for a year or so to avoid messing up her life (and theirs) might plant a seed for kids to consider when they grow up and have problems in their marriage (which all marriages do, no matter what the fairy tales say). But this begs the question, does a children's book really need life lessons? Can't it just be fun? The real world creeps up on us soon enough.

In spite of my grammatical and philosophical objections, it's a good read for those youngsters who enjoy dragons, scary creatures, and adventures that work out in the end. I look forward to the sequel.

The pictures in this book are really quite breathtaking.

There are about 200 books in this ebook series that are offered in the kindle store for either free or for .99¢. You can't really go wrong with the books offered for free. There is a variety of subjects covered and most of the books follow about the same format. You can take a peek inside the books by clicking "Look Inside" and this is pretty much what you get in each book.

I gave this ebook only 4 stars because it just seemed rather short and could've contained more information with better basic explainations of some of the places and terms. It seems the format for this book and most of the Baby Professor books have a picture with a paragraph and facts on the page. Then the next page is just a picture. It would be nice if they had another paragraph on that page as well. But again, since many are free it's hard to complain. The pictures in this book and most of these books are quite spectacular and that som times makes up for the lack of information.

Overall, I do like the books in this Baby Professor series but it would be nice if the books went into more detail. They are very basic books that I hope will get my kids interested in finding more about each subject.

I plan on keeping these books on my iPad for down time for my kids when they get bored waiting different places like the doctors office or practice for a sibling. I hope these books will spark some interest in my kiddos on various subjects. I also occasionally entertain a friends 3 year old daughter and she loves looking through pictures on my phone. Next time, I'm going let her look through these books. I'm excited to see which ones she picks out.

Awesome pictures, descriptions and locations of south eastern asia's most beloved tourist attractions.

Southeast Asia is located in the Southeast portion of the continent of Asia. There are around 20,000 islands in Southeast Asia. This book gives us a look at the most Famous Attractions in Southeast Asia. Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world. Angkor Wat is the reason that Cambodia has more than 50% of the international tourists that come to Cambodia. The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The Grand Palace is currently partially open to the public as a museum, but it remains a working palace, with several royal offices still situated inside.
Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain on the island of Borneo in the east Malaysian state of Sabah. It is the world's most important biological sites.
Coron Island is located at the Northern tip of Palawan in the Philippines. Snorkeling and diving are two of the most famous and sought after activities.
Borobruder is a 9th century Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Magelang region of central Java in Indonesia. This Tourist attraction is the single most visited attraction in Indonesia.
There are many more sites that I did not mention in this review. The photographs are awesome and there is a small picture and description followed by a two page layout of the structure on the next page. It's an awesome book for children and adult alike. Great information especially if you are taking an Asian vacation or are teaching Asian geography in school.
Great e book and Baby Professor does it again with a very informative yet easy to read book for children.
My grandson is in 2nd grade, is an avid reader, he reads way above his school grade. He told me that vivid pictures allow him to use his imagine to transport him to another place and time. He would love to have this book in print to add to his extensive library, I may have to buy it for him and I am very willing to do so.

very funny

Diary of a superhero kid is something I wasn't sure about. I decided if I was going to try it I might as well get the whole thing. Turns it is a very funny diary of a wimpy kid spinoff that nails the formula. Just imagine if Greg had superpowers and he had to keep his identity a big secret and if he was a lot younger. The author uses very poor grammar which makes it very convincing that it is a 9 year old's diary even if it isn't meant to be that way. I wont spoil anything but its very short and perfect for small children or if you just want a laugh. It gets four stars

Great book for this fourth grader.

I found these books interesting and lightly comical. I was disappointed in how short the books were. Over all I did enjoy them, that's why I was sad to come up so soon on the ending. I recommend this book to any fourth or fifth graders who like super hero stories. "That's Super Dweeb"!
