Loved it!

I am a mother of boys and yet I had a blast reading a few chapters to them every night. After the initial violin notes of "But its about a girl!", they were quickly sucked into the intrigue and wonder of Amanda's life, instantly taking down those societal constructions of gender binaries. LR Pinto has bravely and skillfully woven tough real life concepts like change, conflict, moving, friendships and self esteem with the wonderful and magical whimsy of childhood adventure. The beautiful illustration is a worthy pairing to the pristine and fluid prose. Can't wait for the sequel! MFP

Loved this! Looking forward to the next!

Great book! L.R. Pinto brings the characters in Amanda Apple to life like magic. The story covers life changes, new beginnings, friendships, adventure and danger, but written in such a way that makes it exciting and inspiring without being too scary. If you have kids with huge imaginations or who would love reading books such as Harry Potter, this is an excellent book to get them started in the world of fantasy.
