pretty good choice

I give this 4 stars because the area of each month that is devoid of dates has been colored in, so I cannot write any notes there. What is good is that each day has ruled lines to write on.The cover is nice and there is a clear vinyl protection over the cover that can be reused after the calendar is removed. The other good thing is that this is a 2 year calendar beginning with 2016.

I purchased this to keep track of my spiritual dad's schedule since he asked me to be his assistant. It's great so whenever I get a call inquiring about his schedule and availability, I can easily pull this out of my purse. It's small and thin so it can easily fit inside one of my purses. I have small handwriting so the boxes aren't a problem for me. I love that each box has lines in it for easy writing. I also love that it's two years so I don't have to buy another one until 2018 and it also has a "note" section in the back with a few pages. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that she took this quote from Rosa Parks ("women who behave rarely make history") and made her "own" ... for that I'm giving it 4 stars.

Sleek and Thins

I love this planner, it takes no space at all in my bag. It is very sleek and thin. The spaces on the dates are small, so it's not for long notes but if you just need to jot down a quick reminder this is perfect for you! The spaces for each date are separated by lines which helps maintain neatness.
Mon-Fri= 5 lines Sat/Sun=3 lines.

Amazing artwork! Fun story! Henry is a mouse with big dreams and hopes of being the best pumpkin grower in town - he is hard working, friendly, and hopeful. Until....one day his optimism is tested. Henry's goal to grow the biggest pumpkin is achieved beyond belief and he soon has a pumpkin larger than his house! How will he win the blue ribbon if he can't get his Big Pumpkin to the fair? What ensues is a fun reading adventure of team work, mishaps, adventure and a happy ending. I'm glad we bought this children's book.

Instant hit!

I purchased this book for my 3 year old nephew and gave it to him while he was watching his favorite television show. He was so excited when he saw the dragon on the cover that he immediately asked me to read it to him. After just one page, he was so drawn into the story that he asked to turn the TV off completely so he could pay attention to the book. With each page his eyes grew more fixed upon the characters and he kept asking to turn the page so he could find out "what happens next!" By the end of the story, he asked if we could play hide n seek together like the characters.
This is a well-written, well-illustrated adventure with an important message that can be appreciated by both child and adult alike. Thank you for giving us a practical, meaningful, and FUN adventure! We will be reading this together for a long time!

Wonderful story line and beautiful pictures!

What a great book! The pictures are fantastic. They capture what the words are saying perfectly. It's a great way to point out to children that even though we are different we still need to treat others the way we want to be treated. Great read! Awesome job, Brae!

An aspect of this book that was especially fun for me

The Unfriendly Dragon is what children's books should be. It is well written, using vivid adjectives that spark children's imaginations. It presents characters that children can safely emulate. It is written to focus on one life-lesson but teaches many others along the way. The illustrations are perfectly suited to the book's target age group. An aspect of this book that was especially fun for me, as a reader of Brae Wyckoff's adult fantasy novel, The Orb of Truth is that the first time I read it to a child, I got a chance to visit some good friends; Bridazak, Spilf & Dulgin. It felt like I was spending time with them on a weekend; a time when they weren't risking their lives fighting evil as they do in the adult books. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all parents and hope this is the first in what will be a series of "The Adventures of Bridazak and Friends" books.

Fun calendar

The most fun I've had with a calendar. Most the pictures are perfect. I managed to make May look pretty ugly. If you work backwards you can use glitter glue. I recommend backwards with glitter glue, because otherwise the bumpiness makes it difficult to color the next month.

Perfect calendar!

This is a wonderful calendar! The spaces are nice and big for a mini calendar and the pictures are great. The paper is also really thick, even if you use markers nothing bleeds through. I'm very happy with this and would highly recommend it. The shipping was also on time and fast.

Absolutely love it! I love that there's a plastic cover over the front and back so it will cut back on ware and tear over the year. There's a good amount of space for writing down notes and due dates. The designs on each monthly calender view are super cute. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a cute simple planner where you can write down all of your appointments and due dates etc.

Almost perfect... see photos...

Let me say that I really liked this planner. I debated between this one and another planner.

PROS:
The pattern designs in this are really cute.
The pages have decently thick paper (unlikely for bleed through)
The weekly entries are large.
There is a full size entry for Sundays (rare in planners)
The plastic cover allows for a vertical inside "pocket" for misc items (stamps, etc)
Plastic cover will protect with heavy use.

CONS:
The month view is limited to one page.
The "design" on the left side of monthly entries is sometimes dark, so you can't always use that space to write on
The month daily boxes are pretty small (see my pictures, I put some coins on the page so you can have an idea of size)
There are no tabs for the months.

Ordered this planner for my daughter for Christmas and I am so disappointed with it. The quality is horrible...there sticky stuff on the back that I can't get off. I am too embarrassed to even give it as a gift.

About the Author
Sir Terry Pratchett is a publishing phenomenon. Among his many prizes and citations are the World Fantasy Life Achievement Award, the Carnegie Medal, the BSFA Award, eight honorary doctorates and, of course, a knighthood. In 2012, he won a BAFTA for his documentary on the subject of assisted suicide, 'Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die'. He is the author of fifty bestselling books but is best known for the globally renowned Discworld series. The first Discworld novel, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983, and the series is still going strong almost three decades later. Four Discworld novels - Hogfather, Going Postal, The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic - have been adapted for television, with more to follow. His books have sold approximately 85 million copies worldwide (but who's counting?), and been translated into thirty-seven languages. In 2007, Terry Pratchett was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's Disease. He died in 2015.

A Different And Clever Discworld Calendar

The artwork is odd, with a wood-cut sort of appearance rather like some Escher prints have (texture-wise that is). The palette is very restrained too. Four colors per picture by the looks of things. The effect is austere and weird, at once very different to previous calendars and at the same time absolutely appropriate for the subject matter. The more I look at the January page the cooler it seems to me. It hasn't eluded me that this calendar art could have been printed in Ankh-Morpork whereas the previous efforts could not, given the technology available.

The calendar is littered with all sorts of important days for various people and printed in English (though the major headings are in French and German too). Of course, very few people will be buying this calendar for that sort of thing, but it helps that it is there. A sort of bonus, as it were.

Good value for my dollars, I'd say.

Other than that it is the usual high-quality affair, a gloss paper, saddle-stapled booklet with hanging holes punched at the top center of each page.

Very elegant Discworld art!

It's different from the usual, in that it's scratch-based, but with added colors.

I just love it, and I think many Discworld fans will, too!

Colored Woodcuts on black

The art is probably digital but evokes woodcut designs printed with colors on black paper. It's beautiful, and unique. The cover has a silvered effect, and I wish the interior did as well, but the images are great.

The effect is similar to the Gollancz Discworld "Collector's Edition" series--in fact, at first glance I thought it was those covers, but on investigation they're not the same.

Most of the images are not of the familiar characters, but we do get a few: The Witches feature on October (the Magrat version), and we get to see the Hogfather for December (naturally). That image and the one of Great A'Tuin are both worthy of framing, in my opinion, and since this calendar won't be good again until 2044 (leap-years make these difficult to reuse--the last one you can use is from 1988), I may just do that.

Worth tracking down if you like Discworld art to be a little abstract--and just a little, it's still identifiable as narrative pieces--rather than the more traditional Kidby illustrations.

Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, author and luche libre aficionado Xavier Garza is a prolific author, artist, and storyteller whose work focuses primarily on his experiences growing up in the small border town of Rio Grande City. Garza has exhibited his art and performed his stories in venues throughout Texas, Arizona and the state of Washington. Garza lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife Irma and their young son Vincent.

Will capture young readers' attention!

As an early childhood teacher and aunt to several little ones, I’m always on the lookout for exciting new picture books that will capture young readers’ attention and, ideally, trick them into learning. Happily, Xavier Garza’s new dual language concept book – The Great and Mighty Nikko! / ¡El gran y poderoso Nikko! – fits the bill, bringing together the exhilaration of lucha libre and the practical skill of counting. Young readers will love how the tension mounts as, one by one, rudos (rascally wrestling opponents) join forces on Nikko’s bed / wrestling ring to challenge him in the ultimate pre-bedtime match. They won’t even notice that they’re learning as they anxiously turn the pages to count the ever-growing group of opponents. Meanwhile, Garza’s bold use of color, fluid brush strokes, comic-style layout and variety of luchador masks in his illustrations add to the drama. What an entertaining read – I’ll definitely be adding this lively tale to my educational library!

This is awesome! My friend found this at the library, took a pic and sent it to me because my son's name is Nikko and he wears his red spiderman mask constantly. I mean CONSTANTLY. He takes it to the park, eats with it and almost sleeps with it. I presented this book to him when he completed his potty training and he was super excited! I have it up on his dresser because it's adorable. My boy is 2 years old.

This is a great little story with a science fiction twist for kids. The horsey heroes Sporty and Harley work well together during their encounter with a space alien.
I'm looking forward to reading more of the books in this fun series by Ellie Firestone.

I loved this story of Shorty's life and his will to survive. It touched my heart and I wanted so much to be able to help him, I cried happy tears though!!! It is a must read that you will not regret and be very grateful for the the little things we take for granted!
